Candela Romina Saletros Florentino; (born January 28, 2003) is an Uruguayan filmmaker currently studying at ECU (Escuela de Cine del Uruguay). Her work is primarily focused on horror and genre cinema, with a particular interest in atmosphere, visual storytelling, psychological tension, and emotionally driven narratives. Her creative approach explores the intersection between intimate human experiences and darker, unsettling themes. She is especially interested in creating distinctive visual worlds and using horror as a way to explore fear, relationships, identity, and the complexities of human nature. To date, Candela has directed two short films, Love Binding (Amarre) and Dolls (Muñecas). She is currently continuing her film studies while developing new projects and expanding her work as an emerging director, with a long-term focus on horror, visual storytelling, and auteur-driven cinema.
