Mu Bai, a spirit medium who can travel between the worlds of the living and the dead, specializes in investigating supernatural mysteries. He secretly loves Cheng Xiaonan, a quirky but timid private detective who rarely returns his affection. While Mu Bai believes the restless ghost died unjustly, Cheng considers the case a closed investigation involving stolen antiques and a fatal shooting. As their conflicting perspectives drive them apart, Mu Bai suspects a far greater conspiracy lies beneath the apparent truth.
