From an autoethnographic perspective, Impulse, Sweat, and Ecstasy delves into ballroom culture to convey—through a sensory approach and non-linear editing—the emotional intensity of the runway: the impulse to step onto the stage, the sweat of competition, and the ecstasy of the final moment. The documentary offers an immersive experience that explores the identity and collective power that emerge within this community.
