Joy is a Taiwanese moving-image artist trained in filmmaking. She holds an MA in Filmmaking from London Film School and a degree in Digital Media, Culture and Education from UCL. She has a deep interest in the things that don’t resolve neatly—the contradictions, the unsayable feelings, the quiet intricacies of being human. She wishes to understand more of the contradiction in human behaviours through practise. Her work often combines documentary storytelling with abstract concepts, exploring themes such as trauma and healing, identity, the state of being in-between, and love and desire, rooted in her lived, embodied experience.
